This is a great serum! The quality is excellent, and the price is very reasonable for what you get. I’ve noticed my skin looks brighter and feels smoother since I started using it. I always choose products that are EWG certified, and Honest Beauty is one of the few brands I truly trust for clean and safe ingredients. I started an Honest regimen last summer and my skin has never been better. This product is great - when it works. Of the six deliveries of serum I've received, two bottles have been unusable - the pump just doesn't work. I've tried pumping gently, hard, fast, slow. I soaked it in hot water to see if it was clogged and when I pumped it, a bunch of water came out - no serum (didn't even smell serum-y). I'm disappointed because the serum is great but I'll have to replace it with one with a better pump!

I just hit 30 and decided to start a real skincare regimen. I decided to start with one vitamin C serum and have never used a serum before. I feel good about what I'm putting on my skin. The first time I put it on I used two pumps - that was too much. Other reviewers said it feels sticky and definitely with two pumps they are right. I switched on the second day to just using one pump and it's the perfect amount. It does feel slightly sticky at first but it definitely goes away. I didn't think this serum would make that much of a difference but it does - after two days I'm obsessed with how healthy and glowy (but not too much!) my skin looks! I think it's more the hyaluronic acid in the serum than the vitamin C that is giving me the immediate results, but apparently even really small doses of vitamin C can help improve your skin.UPDATE: Still loving this product! It's the mica in it that gives you that immediate natural glow. It's really not sticky - it's a serum, not a cream, so you have to give it time to sink into the skin. I have combo skin and even the oily parts soak it up. I swear I'm even a little less oily now because of this serum's proper hydration. With the hyaluronic acid, it hydrates my face far better than the neutrogena sensitive skin moisturizer I used to use. Working from home in quarantine, I put only this on my face in the morning and I'm golden. I add some SPF if I go outside :) I know it's got very little Vit C in it, but I'm not looking for a heavy-duty Vit C serum yet, and I feel good about consistently putting on a little bit every day, as even little bits have brightening effects. My skin has never looked better!

Pros: clean ingredients. This is so important to me, and this company does a fabulous job coming up with great products that are clean and also competitively priced.Cons: I actually don’t like the “glowing skin” look. I already hit the fine lines and wrinkles stage of my life, the reason I needed vitamin C in the first place, and I don’t like how shiny this makes me. My mineral powder can’t quite cover it. I’ve learned that a matte finish diminishes fine lines, and a shiny face emphasizes them.Also, unfortunately, this did no favors for my rosacea. Just because it’s got a clean list of ingredients doesn’t mean they all work well for rosacea. Everyone’s rosacea and their triggers are different, so I’m not saying it will be the same for everyone, but this made me break out massively.

When you choose 'Honest' as a brand name, you need to be honest about everything. This not only includes the ingredients, but must include the packaging and how friendly and 'honest' it is to the environment.The packaging for this product looks nice and feels nice, but it's a massive amount of plastic for 1 oz of product. It's equivalent to the packaging of two face moisturizers with 2-3 oz each, i.e. 4-6 times the amount of plastic. In addition, it's not labeled for recycling and doesn't designate the type of plastic used. So let's be honest: a lot of packaging for a small amount of product resulting in an outsized environmental footprint. For this reason, I am inclined to find a similar product, with similar ingredients, in a more environmentally friend package. Marketers need to know that packaging is as important as the product inside and corporations need to take responsibility for the environmental impact of what they sell.
