I recently got back into playing electric bass after many years of not, and bought this to help quiet my strings as I play. It works fine for what I need it for and the material its made of seems very durable and I believe it will hold up very well. It is easy to use- just wrap it around the neck of the instrument and fasten it through the loop and its done in seconds. Its very inexpensive too, so the value of that plus it's other positives equals money well spent.

When you really want to play that funk jam on bass, but generally suck as a bass player and can't control vibrating strings and harmonics, this item is for you.If you only want to be able to engage half of the first fret and feel like fighting mid-song with an obstruction on your first fret, this item is for you.Honestly, I don't want this on my bass all the time, but there are some songs that I really need it and it does what it advertises. It'll control those unwanted harmonics and vibrating strings when you're really getting into the groove.I use this on a Jazz bass with a thinner neck profile. It fits fairly well and I don't have to ratchet it down to get the velcro to latch. But, that's about the maximum size this item will allow without starting to mute the strings you actually want to keep vibrating.

I have 5 guitars; 1 Les Paul copy, 1 Ibanez, 1 Fender bass, and 2 Fender acoustics. This muter only fit the acoustics, maybe they have wider necks? Maybe the shape is diff?All I know is they don’t fit the Les Paul copy or the bass, the Ibanez isn’t modded yet for stage.

This same crisp effect can be achieved with a bandana, provided you want that look and style. I added this to my most used studio axes and the quality of my recordings has definitely improved. The strings mute effortlessly, more so than before. Recording requires less editing and manipulation to achieve that crispness. I can only assume that live will be that much better now. A perfect addition to your instrument if you're dealing with high-gain, fast riffs or more intricate clean licks.

I'm not sure if there is anything more to be expected from a product like this. I dont have a ton of experience with anything "higher end" so I would say go for it! It does the thing!

I had a problem with my strings rattling against the fingerboard frets. This little device dampers the irritating noise. It works for me and doesn't effect the tuning of the strings.

I had an A string buzzing like mad. I tried the dampener and it did the trick, My buzzing turned out to be from the string not being wound properly.
