I have seen many people use small card board squares for marking patterns. Creative Grid Rulers are the best rulers for sewing but I think I this little one is my favorite. I use it to creative the block square corners on small purses and for marking the 1/4 inch markings on baby blankets. It is much firmer than cardboard and has important measurements on it and is see through. Thinking about ordering another one for my second sewing machine.

Has definitely made trimming and cutting those small blocks easier for quilting and even boxing corners for zipper pouches.

I keep this mini ruler with my paper piecing quilt box. It’s the perfect size for my mini projects.

You cannot go wrong with a Creative Grid ruler. I wish I was able to get all of them!!
