Excellent introduction to one of the great portrait painters.

This is a lovely book. Unfortunately I didn’t notice when buying that the Hardcover Version is IN FRENCH. Buyer beware! Having checked the listing, it does mention this but it’s not super obvious and all the description about the book itself and the author is in English. The Paperback Version on the same listing is in English. A bit disingenuous of Amazon, methinks...

The book is beautiful, lots of pictures and bound well, but the first chapter and the table of contents is in…Dutch? The remainder of the book is in English and the back of the book says that it is the English version. I don’t see any reviews or notes in the description about this, so assuming that it was a mistake in this book’s printing? Amazon made the exchange very easy! And my new book is perfect. Thank you!

This book on Holbein is a fascinating book on the art and life of a fantastic artist of the past. I’ve really enjoyed reading it and have learned a lot about an artist whose work I greatly admire.
