It is not a DQ shake, but for a vegan protein shake it is good. I only mix it in smoothies with frozen fruits, and fresh produce. So the powder only provides a little sweetness and a lot of protein. If you hate all protein powders, you will probably hate this one too. Maybe if you hate all protein powders try drinking smoothies with just fruits and veggies, and get your protein from some other healthy source.For protein powders, I prefer vegan protein. I get plenty of meat based protein in my diet, but whey protein is harder for me to digest, and process. Vegan protein powder gives me a more balanced amino acid profile, I get the aminos I would otherwise miss in my animal based diet, of milk, eggs, and lean proteins. As a male, I try to avoid soy proteins, and I’m cautious of legumes. Vegan proteins are great, but you want to get the correct vegan proteins, for your needs, goals, and limitations. Or gain uses high quality, safe, balanced vegan sourced proteins.I realize there is a subset of people that say why smoothies? Just eat food. I was not 326 lbs because I was eating healthy foods. I was in the camp of people that thought fruit was a waste of calories. I mean come on, 2 apples have the same calories as a candy bar. But what I have learned is that two apples will nourish and fuel your body, leaving you satisfied. Sugar just trashes your hormones and metabolism. Calories are not the only thing that made me fat. Excess calories from poor nutrition made me fat. Protein smoothies were my baby step in learning how to eat the right stuff. I knew what to eat. I just did not want to do it. Protein smoothies taste good to me. They helped me to learn how to like eating fruit. I now eat whole fruits in place of junk food. I also eat a lot of fruits in smoothies with Orgain powder.My overall review is fairly glowing, and I will let my 5 star rating stand, as I have lost over 100 lbs. The positive benefit of losing 100 lbs and keeping that weight off out weighs anything else for me. So maybe my thoughts are biased.Protein smoothies and an otherwise terrible diet will not help you lose 100 lbs. But protein smoothies, and education may help you learn your triggers to bad eating, and they may help you compensate for cravings, and learn new cravings. It will be a struggle, and it will take time.I do not use this powder in a shaker cup so I can not say how it does with those. I do use it as a component in a fairly complex smoothie with 3 or 4 types of fruit and some greens and juices. My smoothies are not low calorie. They are good calorie with great nutrition. They are not a full meal replacement, but they are close.My smoothies run about 300 calories per serving. I consider a meal 500 calories, for my size and activity level. So using them as a supplement, may be a better choice for many. And eating healthy foods will be your best overall choice.Getting exercise is also a great idea.My hope with this review, is to encourage and inspire someone to make healthy changes. To show them that someone else has had struggles (and I still struggle, I wont even mention how badly I did this past holiday season. But with effort and consistency, there can be hope. Maybe you wont lose 100 lbs. but maybe your clothes will fit better, and you will be able to be a little more active. I remember how happy I was that my size 42 jeans were not tight any more. Now I can wear 34's, and I have gotten down to 32's when I got my weight down to 206. But so far I have not found that weight very sustainable.

This product is my first time trying plant-based protein powder. I struggled with finding the right protein powder (or drinks) before since so many would upset my stomach. I’m not sure if whey was the issue or not. But I have NO stomach issues with this one. I love that it’s flavorless because I don’t like the fake vanilla and chocolate flavors that most powders and drinks have. I like to mix this into veggie/fruit based smoothies and so there is no weird added flavor.The only item that took a couple drinks to get used to was the consistency of the powder. It adds what I guess you could refer to as a “mouth feel” to whatever it’s mixed into. It kind of has this thickening agent effect. But again, I have gotten used to that and the pros far outweigh the cons with this product.

So I was looking for a new protein powder flavor, besides peanut. I know that they make fully powdered roasted peanut flavors out there, but I needed something different. My first inclination was Horchata or fruity pebbles flavors, but I landed on pumpkin spice. I know it’s something my partner enjoys as well, as a flavor. Right away, I found the consistency pleasing because unlike the protein, powdered peanuts, this protein powder dissolves pretty well and does not immediately sink to the bottom of your cup. I use it in my coffee, mostly but also in my overnight oatmeal. The texture is, dare I say, smoother than the peanut protein powder as well. I wish that they did sell protein powder and smaller containers so that I was not chained to this flavor for the next four months, because I’m guessing that’s how long this will last lol. OK.

I use the powder in smoothies and there really is no flavor or smell. It doesn’t dissolve completely so I have to say it’s not really smooth but it’s not bad, really. I’ve experienced this with other protein powders. None, really dissolve completely. It doesn’t change the taste of whatever you are making. No digestive issues. You have to dig deep in the container to locate the scoop. Messy

I had to switch brands of protein due to a new lactose intolerance. This brand doesn't upset my stomach and has a pretty good flavor. I bought horchata and it doesn't taste exactly like it, but is still good. It tastes mostly of cinnamon and is super creamy/milky tasting as well. Highly recommend. I've made this a few times and it always stays a little powdery even after blending. Might be user error, but still the texture is pretty good compared to a lot of protein powders.

On my fourth type of protein and really liking this taste with no stomach issues that I've had with other products. I wondered if I could even have morning smoothies for breakfast and now I know I can. Started with vanilla and will branch out a bit to see what other flavor options are there. Also appreciating the reasonable price point. Less than 1% sugar. Very tasty and I felt full for several hours after. Mixed well with some frozen banana and spinach.

How much money have you spent trying to find a good protein powder? We have all spent $30 on a huge tub of gritty, gummy, chemically tasting protein; or worse, the ones that painfully turn you into balloon full of weapons-grade clouds of eye watering gas. It’s always a gamble. Well, you can stop searching, this is the one you’ve been looking for. The vanilla flavor actually tastes good, almost like vanilla birthday cake. The powder is velvety smooth and dissolves well. Great addition to a morning smoothie with fruit and greens powders, or blend with milk and ice for a “shake”. Doesn’t cause any uncomfortable stomach issues at all. I highly recommend trying this if you have struggled to find a palatable protein powder, it’s definitely the best one I’ve ever tried.
